Kincorrectie - en 1

De kin speelt een cruciale rol in de balans van het gezicht. Een te kleine, terugliggende of asymmetrische kin kan het profiel uit evenwicht brengen en invloed hebben op de uitstraling van de kaaklijn, hals en neus. Met een kinplastiek (genioplastiek) of een kinimplantaat kan de vorm en positie van de kin op een natuurlijke en duurzame manier worden verbeterd.

Wat is een kinplastiek (genioplastiek)?

Bij een kinplastiek wordt het eigen kinbot chirurgisch verplaatst en gefixeerd in een meer optimale positie. Deze techniek maakt het mogelijk om de kin naar voren, naar beneden of symmetrischer te plaatsen, volledig afgestemd op de rest van het gezicht. Omdat gebruik wordt gemaakt van het eigen bot, is het resultaat blijvend en zeer natuurlijk.

Wat is een kinimplantaat?

Een kinimplantaat is een minder ingrijpende ingreep waarbij een speciaal gevormd implantaat wordt geplaatst om de kin meer volume en projectie te geven. Deze methode is vooral geschikt bij een milde tot matige kinretrusie en wanneer de botpositie verder correct is.

Op basis daarvan adviseren wij of een genioplastiek, een kinimplantaat of eventueel een combinatie met andere behandelingen (zoals kaak- of halscontourcorrecties) het beste resultaat zal geven.

Herstel en resultaat

Na de ingreep is er tijdelijk sprake van zwelling en soms lichte gevoelloosheid, die in de meeste gevallen geleidelijk verdwijnt. Het definitieve resultaat wordt zichtbaar na enkele weken tot maanden, wanneer de weefsels volledig zijn hersteld. Het doel is altijd een harmonisch, natuurlijk ogend profiel dat past bij uw gezicht en uitstraling.

  • Do you take any medication?

    You can request and collect an up-to-date medication overview (AMO) from your pharmacy. This will list your current medication. Please bring it with you to your appointment. The doctor will review the AMO with you. If any changes have occurred to the list, please inform your doctor.

  • Can the treatment be done under sedation (twilight sleep) and anesthesia?

    Kliniek Zuidas offers the option for treatments under sedation or anesthesia. We use sedation for people who are too anxious to undergo treatment under local anesthesia. Sedation is possible for minor procedures such as wisdom tooth removal, full extractions, or implant placement. You can discuss this option with your treating oral surgeon.

  • I have pain after my jaw surgery. What should I do?

    You can expect the following side effects from the treatment:

    - Pain for an average of one week, discomfort for an average of two weeks;
    - Swollen cheek: swelling is greatest two to three days after the procedure;
    - Fever for two days;
    - Limited ability to open the mouth.

    You do not need to worry about the above side effects unless your symptoms worsen again three days after the treatment. In that case, please contact us. For more information, download the brochure "Aftercare after jaw surgery."
